First couple of weeks Tench Fishing and Andy’s 60th birthday weekend

The winter has continued right into April with cold nights and day for that fact. I’m fishing some lakes in Kent this year. Not easy and a fair amount of travelling to be done from home.

All lined up in a row

There are some good tench in these lakes and I’m hoping to perhaps get a double this year. I’m trying several types of baits to see if they prefer one or the other, so it’s worm, maggot and casters. The usual suspects!

Nothing doing

The two session I’ve had have been bite less. The temps have hardly been over 10c and much colder at night.

At the ready

There are a few features to fish too however with the tench not playing ball it’s been hard.

Bloody cold

So not much to record in this blog other than a few photo’s.

I’m just about to get the details together for the Tench Fishers national fish-in later this month in fact 8 days away. Again not much has been coming out but that can change. Todays temp was 22c so this will get them moving around I hope.

I also had a great weekend away with Andy (you should have been here yesterday) Cowley, Stu and Mike to celebrate Andy’s 6oth birthday. What a superb weekend, coastal path walking chatting fishing and other drivel. We met Stu’s landlady Bridget, what a woman.

Andy’s family were there too and he can be very proud of them all.

Happy Birthday Andy
