A blank day and cut finger

In the morning I had walked the entire stretch of beat 2 on Throop on the Dorset Stour and called in to the Avon at lunch time to find a couple of barbel that came up on the bait quickly together with a good few chub. That will do nicely I though as I ate lunch. On returning to the swim the chub and barbel showed again. However I tired long hooklinks short hooklinks the lot. The barbel spooked off the hook once and didn’t return. I retired home for some dinner thinking I would get out again on another stretch.

Disaster whilst loading the dishwasher I stabbed my finger with the knife I had just sharpened. DOH.

There was blood everywhere. Out came the super glue and this held it all together and the fishing was cancelled.
