The day after Keith’s four 5lb chub on the Stour. More big chub today

What a great day I had yesterday with Keith with him landing those 5lbers. I was back on the H.Avon looking at catching some chub. My previous visit was with Simon. His 7lbs 13oz chub has been the highlight of this season so far. It’s a funny old game, that’s 4x 7lb plus chub I’ve had a hand in others catching them this year. I’m not complaining my turn will hopefully come.

The weather had been pretty stable over the last week or so with the temps being at about 20c. The river temps had cooled from 23c down to 19 which is respectable.

I’m not going to write too much here other than say that during the day I had 2 5lbs 10oz chub a smaller 5lbs 3oz plus a little “Bertie” barbel of 7lbs 3oz.

It was a fantastic day walking and fishing. I only cast out a few times during the whole day and probably spent more time looking than fishing. I had 8 barbel feeding in the river so they are now showing and perhaps it’s time to fish seriously for them.

I’ve completed a video of the day. Hope you enjoy it.
