Piking and perching on the Thames

The rivers were still in the fields in most places so my mate Andy (you should of been here yesterday) headed off to fish a part of the Thames where we knew some large perch would be hiding. We arrived to find the river fining down. I used worm and fished for perch. Andy on the other hand fished for perch and had a pike rod out as the croc’s were chasing fish everywhere.

We used this as a social really as the H.Avon was out of sorts so it was wonderful to fish with 4 ft between ourselves. He still showed me how to pike fish he had 6 and I had a few small perch.

He did allow me to hook one pike which was a nice little snapper. His fish was 13lbs 14oz.

A nice day in great company, thanks Andy. I think it was 7 pike and 5 perch and as normal you had the largest perch.
