10th to 11th April and a load of tench

Having gone 4 days of not so good tench fishing at Horseshoe I decided to try one of my easier waters. Primarily to see how things were because I was taking Tyler fishing the following day. What I didn’t want to do was to blank. This is not good for a 10 year old guy. My first day turned out to be OK with 5 tench caught plus a good few roach and rudd. The largest rudd being 1lb 7oz.

All of these were taken on a helicopter rig and red maggots.

At one point I had a hard job to keep two rods in the lake with the rudd feeding so hard. So at least Tyler might have a good day here.

The next day Tyler and I looked at another lake for carp in the morning but decided to move to the same lake I fished yesterday. We used the same tactics as yesterday and from the off he caught a perfect roach of 1lb.

Then as time went on the tench came onto the feed and we started to have so much fun!

The fun didn’t stop there as he went on to catch 9 tench with the largest going 5lbs 1oz which was really good and another pb for him.

Keep the rod up Tyler
