River Severn and not a bite

The floods had me looking at the river Severn as it normally fishes so well when in flood. It had been up 9ft and started to drop. I caught it at 4ft and thought it would fish really well. I arrived to see that few if any had been fishing it. I drove along the banks and found a couple of places that screamed barbel. I was fishing small bags of boilies and crumbs with a couple on the hair. I alternated between 2 swims spending 45 minutes in each. Not a sausage not a bite nothing. There was another chap there and he had been blanking all season. So had everyone else. There is a theme running throughout here which had me thinking the barbel had not been washed down from their spawning areas.

I headed home with my tail between my legs a beaten man. Still it was a warm sunny day and great to be out.
